Accountant (Remote)
About the Role
Fantastic opportunity for an experienced Accountant to join a modern, successful bookkeeping practice.
This friendly, full-service practice offers everything from daily financial support to final accounts and tax submissions. Their approach is proactive and relationship-driven, with a goal of embedding themselves in their clients’ businesses.
You will have a minimum of 1 year’s practice accountancy experience. AAT qualified or ACCA/ACA part-qualified (preferred but not essential).
Role Overview:
You will manage a portfolio of small business clients and provide a full range of services. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys working independently while being part of a small and supportive team.
Duties Include:
• Preparation of accounts and corporation tax returns (CT600)
• Completion of self-assessment tax returns (SA100)
• VAT returns in compliance with Making Tax Digital (MTD)
• CIS returns
• Day-to-day bookkeeping and financial record-keeping
• Responding to ad hoc client queries and providing expert advice
• Liaising with HMRC as needed
Candidate Requirements:
• Previous experience in a practice environment (essential)
• Solid understanding of UK tax regulations (VAT, CIS, SA, CT)
• Proficiency with cloud accounting tools such as Xero, Dext, and Apron
• AAT qualified or ACCA/ACA part-qualified (preferred but not essential)
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Comfortable working independently and managing multiple clients
