Salary - GBP9.50 p/h

Our client designs and manufactures scientific instruments based on digital imaging for the life science research, microbiology and healthcare markets.
They are currently looking for a Test and Assembly assistant to join them at their Nuffield road site in Cambridge on a temp to perm basis.

Primary Role :
Assembly of client products ensuring they are built on time and to high quality standards, in order for them to be shipped to meet customer requirements. You will need to have basic computer literacy and full training will be given on company systems.

Reporting to - Production manager

Duties to include -

· Assembly and wiring of products as per build instructions
· Cables as required
· Repair/rework of items as necessary
· Modifying /reworking PCBS
· Building prototypes( Board, Cables etc)
· Check items built by sub contractors to ensure they conform with specification
· Kitting as required for work orders
· Ensure timescales and quality are to agreed standards
· Basic testing of products (pressure testing)
· Liaising with other departments as necessary
· Preparation and packing for shipment

Successful candidate -

· Be able to work from build instructions and works orders with minimal supervision
· Work accurately and with attention to detail
· Have basic electro/mechanical knowledge
· Be well organised, able to plan and prioritise work
· Possess initiative, a flexible and adaptable outlook and be a good team player
· Possess a basic understanding of computer usage (training on SAGE 2000 will be given)
· Soldering skills would be advantageous but training can be given

Record keeping -

· Maintain test records of products built

Documentation/Equipment/Health and Safely
· Be aware Of H and S requirements

New Product Introduction -
· Where necessary, assisting in introducing new products into Production, Liaising with other departments, ensuring documentation is available, undertaking trainingand giving training to new staff members as required

Other Tasks -
· Undertaking special projects as directed by the production manager
· Performing any other reasonable request to get the job done

Working hours - 09.00-17.00 Mon-Fri
